Nia Technique, a natural, self-expressive dance that you can’t do wrong

Watching this video is what hooked me

I mean, I wanted to take this class and now. The closest class I found is held at the Tustin Senior Community Center. The next class starts Saturday, January 9, 2010 thru Saturday, February 27, 2010, 11:30am -12:30pm.  I’m told its usually a small group, to dress comfortably, we’ll be dancing with bare feet, and people attend of all ages and fitness levels.

300 South “C” Street, Tustin, CA.

Call to register: 714-573-3326, course #17106

$64 for non-residents of Tustin, a few dollars less for Tustin residents.

A Nia Class

What is Nia?

Nia is a workout, lifestyle and personal growth program. More than a physical fitness or weight loss program, Nia is a way to condition, heal and transform your body, mind, emotions and spirit. Nia is a system that blends Eastern and Western movements, concepts and philosophy derived from three main movement forms: Martial Arts (mindful precision), Dance Arts (personal expression) and Healing Arts (self-healing). The philosophy of Nia is based on the pleasure principle: If it feels good, keep doing it; if it hurts, stop and adapt what you do to feel better.

What are the benefits of taking Nia?

  • Facilitate weight loss and proper weight maintenance
  • Strengthen muscles, improve muscle tone, and increase muscle definition
