Women-only entrepreneur group helps you go it alone, but together. Sit in or participate THIS THURSDAY, Tustin

business-women-meetingI’ve talked about this group, Savor the Success, several times before on this blog.  I’m a member and consider it my most important tool and resource for running my business.  This is NOT a meet & greet, exchange-business-cards type network.

Savor the Success (costs $49/mo, cancel anytime)  is a PR Co-Op and a niche social media network for women entrepreneurs both online and offline.  You may have read that the way to sell your product or service that worked even five years ago, doesn’t work today.  This is the group that helps you with the leading edge of running a business today.

Members run the range of  beginner to the seasoned, and no matter where we are, all benefit from the expertise of other members and sharing of ideas, suggestions, recommendations, and resources.  The other day, someone posted with a great place to get business cards, $45 for 500.  My order is already in.

It’s a monthly chapter mastermind meeting and an online community where you can post any business-related issue, problem, request for advice or a recommendation. You can expect to receive generous, intelligent responses from people who know. Example – someone posted recently ‘I got this letter [from the big guys], what’s the best way to respond’ and received good help.  Online there are how-to videos, PR opportunities, invaluable media lists, blogs by members with a specific expertise, and more.

Go to this link to see for yourself, SavortheSuccess/About.

You’re invited to attend this month’s meeting as a guest in Tustin, February 17th, 11am-1pm. Feel free to bring your lunch. Some do, some don’t. Call Ann Baker, the group leader, at (310) 947-1069 or email her at Ann@PublicityPros.net for address/directions and to answer any questions you may have.  You’ll find it a small-ish group,  members friendly, supportive, encouraging, and generous. Dress is anything from very casual on up, but the meeting is structured and run professionally.  Come with a pressing issue we can help you with, or just sit back and take it all in.

If you’re a loving baby-cuddler, volunteer to rock at-risk babies

Cuddling BabyThere’s nothing more up my alley than cuddling a baby, whether it be human, puppy or kitten. It just does something for me like nothing else, and satisfies that deep, primal maternal instinct I’ve had since I was a toddler.

Perhaps you have cuddling skills and love that you would like to share.  You can make a life-long difference in a child’s future by volunteering a little of your time to love babies back to health.

A fetus will have approximately 100 billion neurons in their brain, however these neurons are meaningless until after birth when the environment they are exposed to will influence their brain development.

The infant needs to be exposed to stimulation and social interaction to enable their brains to develop. Mothers with certain difficulties are compromised in how they are able to provide stimulation and how they are able to interact with infants, thus influencing how their baby’s brain will develop.

There’s a wonderful information party planned on Sunday, February 13th from 2-4pm at Tapestry, a Unitarian Universalist Congregation at 23436 Madero, Suite 140 in Mission Viejo.   You’re invited to attend.

Please RSVP to Penny at penny@dbkinnear.com so she will know for how many to plan.  You may also email her with questions.

Also, please share this with all your Facebook friends!  You never know who might be touched moved and inspired.

Does consciousness survive death? A can’t-miss program 2/5/11, Laguna Woods

brain/consciousnessThe International Foundation for Survival Research of Laguna Hills is devoted to providing public information, without interpretation, regarding experiences and research related to life beyond death.  They sponsor the popular Life After Life club of Laguna Woods Village.  Their February 5th meeting, open to the public,  promises to be fascinating for people interested in this topic.

Boston medium Joanne Gerber will be giving “spot readings” to audience members.  Joanne has been studied by the Veritas Research Program at the University of Arizona, which tests the hypothesis that the consciousness of a person survives physical death.  She’s also been studied by the prestigious Windbridge Research Institute, an independent research organization consisting of  scientists with varied backgrounds, specialties and interests,  investigating what our bodies, minds, and spirits are capable of, and how that information can best serve living things.

Joanne will be giving “spot” readings to members of the audience.  She’ll also be offering private and group sessions in the Laguna area.  For more information, you can reach Joanne at  781-883-5403.

Also at this event, Robert and Phran Ginsberg from New York will speak.  After their son died, the Ginsberg’s started the Forever Family Foundation in part to provide a forum where individuals and families who have suffered the loss of a loved one can turn to for support, information, and hope provided by ongoing research into the survival of consciousness.  They are co-hosts of the Foundation’s radio show, “Signs of Life.”

The program will be followed with wine, hors d’oeuvres, and dessert.

Woman to talk on intuitive abilities gained from near-death-experience after sustaining severe injuries

In 1983, Jessica Haynes was in a car accident and severely injured with her face crushed, multiple back fractures, feet shattered and more. She says she looked grotesque, and prognosis was very grim. She made a fast, miraculous recovery which she attributes to the near-death-experience (NDE) she experienced.  From the NDE,  she learned ways to create a better, more meaningful life.  She’ll be talking about what she learned, how to create a better life now, and give hope, joy and understanding of the beauty of life so that you can face it, and death, without fear.  She says she has fun stories to share and will take questions from the audience.  Jessica has shared her story for over 20 years including to fortune 500 companies.

Date:   Saturday, 12/11/10, 1pm-4pm

Where:    Unity of Tustin, 14402 Prospect Ave., Tustin, CA 92780.  Drive to the rear of the church and park. The talk will be in the first classroom you come to on your right.

Fee:       There’s a $10 donation requested, however, no one will be turned away due to lack of money.

Anyone who’d like to can join this small group for a no-host dinner at nearby Mimi’s Restaurant afterwards to continue the discussion or talk about anything else.  There’s always lots of laughing, good conversation, or just good listening opportunity.

OC Women Entrepreneurs – MasterMind Network Group Invitation

There continues to be a lot of interest on this blog for Savor the Success, a lively, fast-growing national community of savvy and supportive women entrepreneurs. I belong to the Orange County chapter, which meets in Tustin once a month.

women meetingThe key to its success is something called MasterMinding, a goal-achievement tradition that goes back as far as Benjamin Franklin.  It’s the gathering of like-minded individuals who meet regularly. Everyone has their turn to receive the group’s focus and collective brainpower to help with whatever issue is brought to that month’s meeting.  This could involve help making a decision, needed resources, or ideas.  Many people never achieve their dreams because they are trying to do it all by themselves.  The power of a MasterMind group is incredible.

What a few Orange County chapter members say:

“As a small business owner, I find the resources available and connections I’ve made are invaluable. Members are passionate about wanting to help each other succeed; simply put, it’s authentic. I know that when I have a question about my small business the answers will be generous and given with serious thought.”
– Wendy Navarro,  Saige Nicole’s Baby and Toddler Boutique

“My connections have contributed toward a 15% increase in revenue.  Through member Ann Baker of PR-123, I’ve launched a professional-looking Facebook page.  Also, member Wendy Navarro of Saige Nicole’s connected me with government funded small business resources that I never would have known about.”
– Michelle Deets Haynes, Clarity Learning Private Tutoring

“I’ve developed business relationships with members from all over the country – and at every local Mastermind Meeting,  I’ve come away with a new lead or idea!”
– Ann Baker,  PR-123 and Publicity Pros

As a member, I’ll add my two cents – It’s the one critical resource I could not do without for the myriad of issues which arise in running my business, which is to educate people and market my two proprietary,  non-toxic remedies for cold sores and canker sores.  For example,  I’m struggling with making a huge decision, and this will be what I bring to our next meeting on October 13th. I know from experience that I will walk away with the answer, or have ideas to sit with for a couple of days to be able to make that decision with confidence.

The OC Mastermind Network Group is open to new members.  If you or someone you know is at any stage of running a business, you may be interested to join us at a meeting as our guest to see if it’s for you.  We meet at 10:30am-12:30pm in Tustin.  For information, contact Ann Baker at (213) 785-8835 or by email, Ann@PublicityPros.net.

I recommend this twice-a-year, weekend warehouse sale in Foothill Ranch. Fri, 8/20-Sun, 8/22

I’m not much on garage sales but inspite of the heat in and outside the warehouse, I go to this sale every year. My particular interest are the informercial products I see on TV but use willpower not to buy, that often appear right here at the sale at greatly reduced prices.  And there’s always a few other chotskies I pick up as well.  Lots of stuff in the $1-$10 range.  Get some, a lot, or all your holiday shopping here, it will save you a fortune.  Beware, no refunds or exchanges. And dress cool. This weekend starting tommorrow (Friday).
